Łukasiewicz – ITECH participated in the Final Gala of the LII Olympiad of Technical Knowledge – Engineering in Electricity and the 19th edition of the National Competition for the title of “Young Innovator 2025/2026”. The event took place on May 21, 2026 at the Warsaw NOT Technician House and brought together students from all over Poland interested in technical sciences and engineering.

During the gala, representatives of Łukasiewicz – ITECH presented the “Olympians in Łukasiewicz” program , addressed to the winners and finalists of national science Olympiads. The Institute was represented by Katarzyna Jodko-Piórecka, PhD, deputy director for research, and Agata Majkowska, project manager.

The “Olympians in Lukasiewicz” program enables young people to gain their first professional experience in the institutes of the Lukasiewicz Research Network, participate in research and development projects, and work under the guidance of mentors. This is an offer for young people who want to see how the knowledge they gain at school and during the Olympiads can be used in practice – in research teams, technological ventures and activities responding to the needs of the economy.

In the context of the Technical Knowledge Olympiad – Engineering in the Electric Power Industry, it was particularly important to show that the skills developed by participants are applicable in areas important to energy transition, infrastructure security and technology development.

During the event, Łukasiewicz – ITECH also received a diploma of recognition from the Federation of NOT Scientific and Technical Associations and the Main Committee of the Olympiad of Technical Knowledge – Engineering in Electricity. The award was given in gratitude for the commitment and support for the development of technically talented young people – future creators of technology.

For Łukasiewicz – ITECH, participation in the gala is part of our efforts to support young talents and build pathways between education, science and R&D practice. We would like to thank you for appreciating our activities and congratulate all participants and winners of the event!

Recruitment for the 5th edition of the “Olympians in Lukasiewicz” program is underway. More information about the rules of participation and next steps can be found on the program’s website.
