Biografia

Marcin Kardas as of January 2, 2023. Deputy Director of NCBJ for Innovation and Implementation, where he oversees NCBJ’s commercialization and implementation activities, in particular the Spruce Science and Technology Park and the Nuclear Apparatus Facility, as well as large infrastructure projects like PolFEL, MNL and NOMATEN CoRE. He was a member of the Expert Group on Technology Infrastructure under the Directorate General for Research and Innovation.

From 2019 to 2022, he worked at the Łukasiewicz Center (Łukasiewicz Research Network) as deputy director and then director of the Research and Innovation Department, where he was responsible for activities related to supporting the research and development activities of the Łukasiewicz institutes, in particular the acquisition of research projects. He was also responsible for the work of the Łukasiewicz Competence Platform Project Management and cooperation with universities and research organizations. He participated in the work of the European Association of Research Organizations (EARTO) in the topics of technological infrastructure, Horizon programs and impact assessment of research organizations, among others, as well as working groups of the European Commission (e.g., technology maps for industrial sectors). He was involved in cooperation with the communities of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) and European partnerships in Horizon Europe, as well as the network of European Digital Technology Hubs (EDIH) created with the participation of Lukasiewicz Institutes.

In 2018-2019, he worked at EIT Food CLC North-East, where he was responsible for coordinating activities regarding the EIT Food innovation strategy implemented in Central and Eastern European countries, including building a portfolio of start-ups and their support, enhancing the skills and competencies of entrepreneurs, scientists and public sector representatives. From 2009 to 2018, he worked at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education in the Department of Innovation and Development, where he was responsible, among other things, for programming the 2014-2020 EU financial perspective in the area of research and innovation. He represented the Ministry in the OECD Technology and Innovation Policy Group, the Standardization Council of the Polish Committee for Standardization, the Regional Forum for Smart Specializations in Poland and the Working Group on Regional Innovation Strategies of the National Center for Research and Development.

He received his doctorate in management from the Warsaw School of Economics in 2009, and since 2013 he has been working with the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw, where he teaches project management, technology foresight and business models, as well as operations management.
