Munich Security Conference 2026

On February 14, 2026, as part of a side event at the Munich Security Conference 2026, we will talk about defense outlays in times of conflict and how to balance the risks and opportunities of the current situation.

The Munich Security Conference, which has been organized since the 1960s, is one of the most prestigious and influential platforms for dialogue on defense challenges and transatlantic relations, bringing together dozens of heads of state and hundreds of senior officials and representatives of the most opinionated expert communities each year.

In our debate entitled. “War spending on defense: how to reconcile politics, the needs of industry and society,” Michal Baranowski – Deputy Minister of Development and Technology, world-renowned political scientist Ivan Krastev, Hiski Haukkala – Director of the Finnish Institute of International Affairs, Jana Puglierin – Head of the Berlin office of ECFR Berlin, Anna Wieslander – Director responsible for Northern Europe at the Atlantic Council, Elena Lazarou – Director General of the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy, as well as members of the European Parliament and national parliaments, confirmed their participation.

The originators of the debate and the entire EU Security Initiative are Prof. Monika Sus (Polish Academy of Sciences) and Michal Matlak, director of Łukasiewicz – ITECH Institute of Innovation and Technology.

The event is being held in cooperation with the European University Institute in Florence, with which we will sign a cooperation agreement in March.
