Evaluation of the impact of the Implementation PhD program on the innovativeness of Polish entrepreneurs
Implementation date 01.08.2025-31.12.2025
The purpose of the proposed task is to evaluate the Implementation Doctorate program from the perspective of the impact of participation in the program on the increase in innovation of the entities that employ them, as well as the scale of innovation of the solution developed as part of the project.
The task is divided into two stages. As part of the first stage, based on desk research analyses, the Implementation PhD program will be compared to analogous programs carried out in other European countries, particularly in countries with a high level of innovation and effective cooperation between the science and business sectors, such as Germany and Scandinavian countries. This stage will also include an analysis of technologies and solutions developed as a result of already completed implementation PhDs in Poland. The technologies will be evaluated through the prism of their innovation, commercialization potential, fit into key areas for the development of the State, and compatibility with current technological megatrends. Of the solutions developed, 10 technologies will be selected that have significantly influenced the development of the enterprise in which they have been implemented and have, in our opinion, a breakthrough character(success stories)
The second stage of the task will focus on entrepreneurs. A qualitative survey of entrepreneurs where the most promising technologies have been implemented (entrepreneurs selected in stage I) will be conducted to determine the main success factors of these projects and to obtain recommendations for possible program improvement from entrepreneurs who have made the best use of the opportunities created by the program. A quantitative survey will then be conducted on a representative group of entrepreneurs participating in the program to assess the impact of participation in the program on business innovation.
The result of the task will be the development of a final report containing: (i) a comparative analysis of the Implementation PhD program with programs conducted in other European countries; (ii) an assessment of the solutions / technologies created so far within the program in terms of their impact on the innovativeness of the State (macro scale); (iii) an assessment of the impact of participation in the project on the innovativeness of enterprises in the short and long term (micro scale); (iv) recommendations for possible modifications of the Implementation PhD program, so that it better meets the needs reported by Polish entrepreneurs.
