Innovation in the spotlight: Lukasiewicz Research Network Convention at Lukasiewicz – ITECH

On February 20, 2026, a Network Convention was held at the headquarters of the Lukasiewicz Research Network – ITECH Institute of Innovation and Technology, attended by 22 institute directors and 12 representatives of the Headquarters, headed by President Hubert Cichocki. The meeting was devoted to the strategic directions of the Network’s development and the exchange of experience at the highest management level.

During the Convention, the importance of the Network’s institutes in creating innovative solutions to the country’s key economic and social challenges was emphasized. As Dr. Michal Matlak pointed out, referring to the role of Lukasiewicz – ITECH:
“Since September we have been in the process of transforming our Institute into a think-tank working in the areas of security, energy transition and the innovation ecosystem – such a unit is badly needed by the Polish state and ITECH will become one in the coming months.”
Convention participants also discussed strategic directions for the development of the entire Lukasiewicz Research Network, pointing to the need to deepen synergies between institutes and intensify cooperation with the economic sector so that the Network can fully realize its mission of supporting an innovative and competitive economy.
The meeting provided an opportunity for an in-depth discussion of future research projects, joint innovation initiatives and the role of the Lukasiewicz Research Network as a leader in Polish applied science.
