Łukasiewicz – ITECH and the Polish Energy Storage Association (PESA) are launching cooperation on research and development projects related to the energy transition.
The cooperation will include the implementation of collaborative research and development projects, as well as promotional activities related to their outcomes. One of the first areas of cooperation will be a project analysing the future skills and workforce needs of the energy storage sector.
Skills for the Growing Energy Storage Sector
The development of energy storage technologies is an important element of the energy system transformation. As these solutions become increasingly significant, demand is also growing for specialised skills, technological expertise and a suitably qualified workforce.
The cooperation between Łukasiewicz – ITECH and PSME is intended to create a platform for combining research and analytical expertise with the knowledge and experience of stakeholders in the energy storage market. The collaborative projects will make it possible, among other things, to analyse the sector’s development, its skills and workforce needs, and the changes likely to affect the labour market and the industry’s future operations.

The signed letter of intent also opens up opportunities for further projects in the field of energy transition.
The cooperation on behalf of Łukasiewicz – ITECH will be coordinated by Natalia Ziemiańska, PhD, Sc. Eng. while on behalf of the Polish Energy Storage Association, the cooperation will be coordinated by Tomasz Adamski.
The cooperation with PESA forms part of Łukasiewicz – ITECH’s broader efforts to analyse the technological, social and institutional dimensions of the energy transition and to develop partnerships that bring together the research community, market stakeholders and the technology sector.
