dr Piotr Hańczyc

Scientist and manager specialising in new technologies, the commercialisation of research results, and collaboration between research and business. His experience combines academic research with a practical approach to the development and implementation of innovative solutions.

He earned his doctorate at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden and Wrocław University of Science and Technology. He also conducted research at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he worked in the team of Nobel Prize laureate Alan Heeger. He is currently developing projects in materials spectroscopy at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences.

He is the author of numerous scientific publications and has received scholarships and grants awarded by, among others, the European Commission, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the National Science Centre and Swedish institutions.

At Łukasiewicz – ITECH, he works as Chief Specialist – Manager of the Polish Basalt Technologies Cluster. He is responsible for developing the Cluster’s ongoing activities, building relationships with new partners, integrating its members and organising networking activities. He also analyses technology trends, identifies available support instruments and studies the impact of new technologies on the economy and society.
