From Festival Energy to Nuclear Energy: Łukasiewicz – ITECH at Olsztyn Green Festival 2026

Olsztyn Green Festival is one of Poland’s most recognisable summer events, bringing together music, sustainability, education and conversations about the future. This year’s edition, held on 14-16 August on the shores of Lake Ukiel, also provided a unique opportunity to engage with science and innovative technologies developed within the Łukasiewicz Research Network.

Łukasiewicz – ITECH was represented at the festival by Agata Urbaniak, PhD , participating in the panel discussion entitled “Nuclear or Solar? Where Will the Energy of the Future Come From?”.

The invited speakers discussed the profound transformation taking place in the energy sector, including the declining role of fossil fuels and the growing importance of renewable energy sources and nuclear power in the future energy mix. Following the panel discussion, festival participants had the opportunity to meet the expert in person and engage in conversations about the opportunities and challenges associated with the development of modern energy systems.

The Łukasiewicz Zone also attracted significant interest, with experts from across the Łukasiewicz Research Network delivering demonstrations, hands-on workshops and presentations of innovative technologies. Visitors were particularly drawn to the robot showcased by Łukasiewicz – PIAP, as well as a range of interactive animations, experiments and activities designed to engage both children and adults. Through direct conversations with scientists and engineers, attendees had the opportunity to discover how everyday technologies are developed and how science is helping address some of today’s most pressing challenges.

Olsztyn Green Festival once again proved that science can be presented in an engaging, accessible and inspiring way. We hope that the presence of experts from the Łukasiewicz Research Network helped visitors gain a better understanding of complex scientific topics and inspired future generations to explore the world of research, innovation and emerging technologies.

We would like to thank everyone who visited the Łukasiewicz Research Network zone and took part in meetings and discussions with our experts.
