Lukasiewicz - ITECH conducts research in three strategic areas of the Lukasiewicz Research Network: defense and security, energy transition and technology development.

ITECH - A THINK-TANK RESEARCH INSTITUTE

Lukasiewicz – Institute of Innovation and Technology is the only one of the Network’s 22 institutes that conducts social research, focusing on analyzing the conditions for the development of technology and innovation in Poland. Since August 2025, Łukasiewicz – ITECH has been undergoing a process of deep organizational and programmatic change, the aim of which is to transform it into a strong think-tank research and analysis unit. The Institute’s strategy is to build a center that not only carries out research and development work, but also generates knowledge, recommendations and expertise to support public policy makers, in line with the goals of the entire Lukasiewicz Network.

ŁUKASIEWICZ RESEARCH NETWORK

The mission of the Łukasiewicz Research Network, which has been in operation since 2019, is to generate innovative solutions that increase the global competitiveness of the Polish economy, through cooperation with entrepreneurs and the application of the highest standards of commercialization of R&D results. In the modern world, innovation is one of the key sources of economic development, and as such, it stimulates economic growth and contributes to improving the living conditions of Polish society, and in the long term determines the country’s position in the international economy.

BETWEEN SCIENCE, ADMINISTRATION AND BUSINESS

Lukasiewicz – ITECH’s competitive advantage lies, among other things, in its unique combination of socio-political analysis and technological expertise, which distinguishes the Institute from think tanks that rely mainly on publicly available sources. We provide an expert resource for other Network institutes, public administration and business through systematically delivered expert documents (social studies, foresight analyses, technology impact assessments) that reduce implementation risks, strengthen demand for new technologies and shorten the path “from idea to market.” In R&D projects carried out in cooperation with other Network Institutes, ITECH deliberately combines user perspectives, regulatory requirements and market considerations, so that solutions developed at the Network have clearly defined business and social value, and their implementations support the growth of innovation among businesses in Poland.
