Prof. Dr. Jacek Sroka
Prof. Dr. Jacek Sroka – graduate of the University of Wroclaw, political scientist, full professor, specializing in the problems of public policies, public management and co-determination. Scholarship holder of programs: NATO-OTAN Fellowship, Jean-Monnet and TEMPUS (at the University of Vienna, under the scientific supervision of Prof. Georg Winckler). As a manager and contractor, he participated in 22 national and international research projects. He was a long-time expert of the Dublin-based European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions.
Author of national and international scientific and analytical studies, including: 5 authored monographs, 11 co-authored monographs, 3 edited monographs, 7 co-edited monographs, 147 articles and chapters, as well as more than 60 expert papers and about 20 popular science texts. He has held a number of research internships, including in Ankara, Berlin, Brno, Donetsk, Dresden, Geneva, Lisbon, Ljubljana, Vienna, Vilnius, Wuppertal. He has cooperated with national and foreign governmental and local government units, national and foreign research institutes, as well as NGOs, trade unions, employers’ organizations. Winner of university awards and one ministerial award. He has held and continues to hold academic positions, including those related to the evaluation of scientific activities.

The Technology Security Department is responsible for identifying, analyzing and minimizing risks associated with the implementation and operation of innovations and technologies. It carries out research work on analytical methods and tools to support the protection and strengthening of the state’s technological sovereignty and to ensure the development of security and defense in accordance with the Law on the Lukasiewicz Research Network. Collaborates with internal and external entities on research, analysis and activities to strengthen the security and innovation ecosystem.
The Public Policy Department focuses its activities on monitoring, identification, analysis, recommendations and evaluation of public policies oriented to socio-economic problems. The leading direction of research and implementation activity is to strengthen the effective and responsible practice of public policies supported by data and evidence (evidence-based policies). This is done by assisting in the relevance, effectiveness and synergy of public policies, both between different types of policies and with regard to the coherence of government and local government activities. The DPP’s activity stems from the contents of the Law on the Lukasiewicz Research Network and is located in the area of supporting state economic policy through the formulation of: trend forecasts, impact forecasts and recommendations on the impact of knowledge and technology transfer on society and its development.
