The 2nd Consortium meeting of the CRESTIMB project brought together leading experts, researchers, and industry representatives to discuss key stages of implementation and the further development of modern technologies in timber construction. The hybrid-format event not only provided an opportunity to summarize the progress made so far but also to define strategic directions for the years ahead. The event was opportunity of interesting presentations and great conversations, which facilitated the exchange of knowledge and experiences among participants. 

A particularly noteworthy moment of the event was the presentation session, which showcased the project progress of individual teams.  

Key takeaways from the meeting: 

  • Strengthened collaboration and clear vision for development – The signing of the consortium agreement strengthened the relationships between project partners, ensuring alignment of actions and clear definition of shared goals. 
  • Expansion of the partnership – A new academic partner (HBC University of Applied Science) joined the CRESTIMB team, opening up opportunities for deeper research and innovative solutions in the field of construction technologies. 
  • Strong international presence – The consortium is intensively preparing to participate in prestigious conferences, where it will present its achievements so far and establish new strategic collaborations.
  •  Further project development – The possibility of extending the initiative was discussed, and key areas for future activities were identified, emphasizing the importance of technological innovation and sustainable development in timber construction. 
  • Planned meetings – Upcoming events in key European locations have been scheduled, offering further opportunities for experience exchange and discussion of project progress. 

In summary, the participants emphasized the importance of the CRESTIMB actions for the future of modern construction.  The meeting was hosted by Dr Patrick McGetrick, Associate Profeesor in Structural Engineering at University of Galway. We would like to thank him for the invitation and for providing a space to discussion and sharing experiences.
