The energy transition and the construction of a resilient battery value chain necessitate close cross-border collaboration across Central Europe. Establishing a sovereign energy storage technology market will remain unattainable without robust regional partnerships. <\/strong><\/p>

On the initiative of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Poland<\/a>, the \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 ITECH institute hosted an expert meeting featuring representatives of the Czech Battery Cluster<\/a>, as well as key figures from the Polish and Czech R&D and industrial sectors. The event provided a platform for substantive discussion, knowledge sharing, and the mapping of strategic areas for cooperation. <\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Key Competencies and R&D Potential<\/h3>

During the pitching sessions, the scientific and technological potential of the participants was presented. The Czech side showcased the achievements of its research institutions \u2013 the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication at Brno University of Technology and the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences \u2013 as well as the operational profiles of entities associated with the Czech Battery Cluster.<\/p>

The potential of the \u0141ukasiewicz Research Network was presented comprehensively \u2013 ranging from the analytical, deployment, and strategic competencies of \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 ITECH to the specialized research infrastructure of the \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 Non-Ferrous Metals Institute (with sites in Pozna\u0144 and Legnica).<\/p>

Power Grid Challenges and the Role of Energy Storage<\/h3>

A key highlight of the agenda was a presentation by Tomasz Adamski, Director of Research and Analysis at the Polish Energy Storage Association (PSME). The expert outlined the challenges associated with the growing generation of renewable energy (RES) and the urgent need to deploy large-scale energy storage systems.<\/p>

These issues form the core of the partnership between \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 ITECH and the Polish Energy Storage Association (PSME), under which joint analytical studies and research and development projects are conducted.<\/p>

Regional Synergy and Strategic Raw Materials<\/h3>

The participants also discussed building a European supply chain based on local critical raw materials, such as lithium, manganese, and graphite. They highlighted the need to strengthen tripartite R&D cooperation between Poland, Czechia, and Hungary, which could serve as a foundation for the energy stability of Central Europe as a whole.<\/p>
