In April, we were hosted in Zielona Gora, where, at the invitation of the Zielona Gora City Hall<\/a> and Waldemar Kotlarski, the mayor’s plenipotentiary for institutional relations, we took part in the 32nd Building, Interior and Garden Fair. <\/strong><\/p>\n The event brought together representatives of the construction, gardening, technology, local government and residents interested in modern solutions for the home, city and environment. Also part of the program was the Smart City Conference, dedicated to the role of innovation in the development of smart, sustainable and resident-friendly urban spaces. <\/p>\n During the conference Lukasiewicz – ITECH was represented by PhD Sc. Eng. Natalia Ziemia\u0144ska<\/a>, Chief Research Officer at the Center for Analysis and Technology Development. The expert moderated the panel “SMART BUILDING – Smart Construction” and appeared as a participant in the debate “SMART NATURE – In line with nature”. <\/p>\n At \u0141ukasiewicz – ITECH also represented the Industry Contact Points, an initiative that supports entrepreneurs, scientific units, administration and industry organizations in developing R&D cooperation and seeking opportunities to participate in national and international projects. Among other things, as part of the BPK, we help take advantage of Horizon Europe funding, connect partners, identify technological needs and identify funding paths for innovative ventures. We invite entities interested in developing innovative projects, searching for partners and funding opportunities for research and implementation to cooperate with us. <\/p>\n Thanks to our presence at the fair, we were also able to present basalt technologies, which are used in construction, infrastructure and the AGRO sector, among others. We talked about modern basalt-based materials, such as composite bars and basalt meshes – durable, resistant and responsive to the needs of sustainable development. These are solutions of interest to companies, local governments and institutions looking for innovative materials for practical use. <\/p>\n The area of basalt technologies in the \u0141ukasiewicz Research Network is handled by \u0141ukasiewicz – Institute of New Chemical Syntheses<\/a>, which is the coordinator of the Polish Basalt Technologies Cluster<\/a>. The INS Institute was represented at our joint booth by Dr. Krzysztof Borowik. Thus, the presence at the fair was also an opportunity to showcase cooperation between Lukasiewicz institutes and discuss how the potential of science and industry can support the development of modern materials technologies. We invite companies, institutions and partners interested in the development and practical application of basalt technologies to participate in cluster activities. <\/p>\n
