Workshops on open science

In September 2024, CRESTIMB, in collaboration with ForestValue2, hosted the ForestValue2 Open Science Seminar. The event showcased open research practices within the forestry sector and featured renowned speakers such as Dr. Maria Pawlowska (VISNEA) , Dr. Rainer Krug (University of Zürich), and Sam Hall (Open Research Europe). The seminar focused on promoting open science, research transparency, and collaborative platforms aimed at increasing access to scientific data and knowledge. These initiatives are key to driving innovation and sustainable practices in forestry.

Participants were introduced to the UNESCO Open Science Toolkit, which supports the implementation of the UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science, the first international framework for advancing open science globally.
